Georgeous wood chess board with frame made from Honey Locust and Black Walnut.  The playing surface is 16" x 16" (2" squares) and 18.5" x 18.5" x 1.75" tall overall dimensions. 
 
The playing surface and frame have been finished with a tough polyurethane to protect against scratches.  Felt has been placed on the bottom of the frame to prevent scratches on a table. 
 
The playing surface is attached to the frame with clips to  ensure that the frame is protected from warping or cracking. The clips allow the playing surface to expand and contract without effecting the border. Chess pieces not included.
